What Is Gaijin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu?…. It Literally Translates Into "The Foreigner School Of The Gentle Art." Gaijin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu Stresses Relaxation And Leverage As Opposed To Power And Aggression. It Is A True Martial Art Which Contains Both Grappling And Striking Techniques. A Gaijin Ryu Student Displays Respect, Courtesy, Honor, Integrity And Confidence…. A Gaijin Ryu Black Belt Takes These Virtues To An Even Higher Level. The Gaijin Ryu Motto Is… Modest In Victory, Humble In Defeat. With Proper Training In Gaijin Ryu Jiu-Jitsu, It Is Possible To Control And/Or Subdue An Attacker Without Causing Them Serious Bodily Harm. This Is Done By Use Of Joint Locking Techniques And Pain Compliance Holds. These Techniques Are Very Similar To Those Found In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Japanese Jujitsu & Judo, Korean Yudo & Hapkido, And American Free-Style Wrestling.... Just To Name A Few. To Balance Out The Grappling Techniques, Gaijin Ryu Students Are Also Taught Open & Closed Hand Strikes, Various Kicks, Elbow & Knee Strikes, And Even The Irish Jab (Head Butt). Learning How To Strike Someone Greatly Enhances Your Ability To Defend Against Such Strikes. It Also Gives You More Options When It Comes To Self-Defense. Sometimes, The Only Way To Stop A Violent Attack Is With Greater Violence. "It
doesn't mean that I advocate violence, but at the same time, I am not
against using violence in self-defense. I don't call it violence when
it's self-defense, I call it intelligence."
The Gaijin Ryu Dojo is a Registered Charter School of the World Combat
Arts Federation (06/02/2001) and a Certified Class B Club of the United
States Martial Arts Association (10/26/2003).
